Maya DIY Model Reverse Foot Setup

To make the feet have more character, I followed the 'reverse foot setup' tutorial and added a few new attributes. I started with 'stand tip'. This is perfect for a walking cycle, and was quite interesting to do. I grouped the Ik handle of the ankle and snapped it to the ball of the foot, which allowed me to make this rotation! I would have never have thought to ever do this, so I am glad I now know because Hayley and I are thinking of including walking cycles into our own animation.
Next was 'peel heel'. I also snapped this group to the ball of the foot and this allow the foot to bend and curve like a regular, human foot. This would be fun to play around with if you were trying to recreate some extravagant walk cycles.

'Toe tap' was the next one which I think is quite comical. You could use this one if your character is impatient or waiting on something. I think I might try and use this for my own character as she is quite mischievous and will be awaiting around for Hayley's character to finish attempting to win the carnival competitions!

This is an image of all four attributes used together! Once I had made groups and snapped the pivots to the right joints, I then set some 'driven keys' which like previously, allowed me to give my foot limitations and potentials. This was EXTREMELY confusing for me. I still am not sure if I got it perfectly because I kept getting confused, however I tried my best and kept having a go if I thought I did something wrong. Either way I can still move the feet of my character, and complete a walk cycle if I tried.
