Final Crit Feedback!

Today we had the final crit and I showed this video which was the first 18 seconds of my rendered animation. I was extremely nervous to show it becuase this was the first time I had put all my rendered scenes together, and I was worried that it would perhaps lack cohesion and in some places not make sense.

But I was extremely surprised at the reaction I got. Both my peers and Sara loved the look and narrative of the story so far and were really great at giving me feedback! This time I really wanted feedback because I had looked at the animation so much I couldn't decide what was okay and what needed to be changed, therefore I really wasn't sensitive the criticism that I got, which is a big milestone for me!

My peers made me aware of an issue in the beginning scene, where the camera swoops in a little too 'jagged'. I didn't see this at first, but now that Callum mentioned it, I can't stop seeing it. I had a lot of experimentation with this part, but seen as how it was my first scene, then I am not beating myself up about it. He advised me to draw a curve and place the camera on that which is a great idea, and something I am going to try!

I myself, brought up an issue I had with establishing Hayley's character. Because his legs don't move I contemplated so much on how to introduce him into the animation, and tried to get him to pop out from behind the scene instead. Until I brought it up, my peers and Sara didn't even notice this issue, however Sara gave me the idea to shoot him from the waist up and just move him along, which is something I would like to try if I have time, but is not too much of a priority because they didn't even notice it in the first place!
