After making the skeleton I remembered that I now had to make the controllers. I quite enjoyed this process in the tutorials, so I wasn't as apprehensive to do it my own model. Because Hayley and I agreed we weren't having any mouths or eyebrows (we can draw them on) modelled, the head controllers were fairly straightforward. The only difference was that the eyes on my model are much more further apart than the example one, so I had to alter the main eye controller according to the width and height of her eyes.
I also found the shoulder to be a little bit more difficult than the tutorials because my models neck is very short, so her head and actual body are very close together and it was hard for me to fit both neck and shoulder controllers. To overcome this, I had to make my controllers a little smaller than Mat's, and also zoom in a lot more to get my controllers tone accurate. I spent a lot of time on these areas because I really didn't want to make a mistake so that further on down the line, I would have to pay the consequences.
Making the controller for the hand was much more simpler. I used the CV curve tool to draw it in 'top' preview mode, so I could be as precise as possible. However when I snapped it to the wrist vertices, the hand controller appeared as if it had shrunk, so I just added more control vertex's so that I could move more points and try and emulate the outline of her hand.
And these are snapshots after making all the desired controllers, and then colouring them in distinguishable colours. At this moment I am happy with all the controllers that I have made, though I am a little worried about those on the foot. They seem a lot smaller than Mat's in his tutorial, and this is because the legs on my model are really close together, so I had to make sure that they weren't touching each other. Time will tell if I have to go back and fix this, so for the time being I have made a separate save file at this point so if I do have to go back and change something, I can do without losing everything on the one scene file.
