Storyboarding!

Because Hayley and I had our characters designed and ready to go, I thought it would be a good idea to get them in the narrative and moving on paper. Therefore I made a rough storyboard. This is probably the longest storyboard I have done, but it is also the longest animation I have done, and I did try and shorten it as much as I could so that it wouldn't be too complex.

I noticed that I have drawn a lot of camera cuts which I am excited to achieve really easily in Maya, however I am not sure how to do this therefore this is something I am going to have to research in order to get the animation to look smooth and not too jumpy. I have also added a swooping in camera motion at the beginning of the animation inspired by Mat's own work so Hayley and I are going to have to run some tests before we get going.

I also tried to give equal amounts of camera time between both my character and Hayley's so that it would be fair. And I also tried to give them their own personality, as much as I could for one minutes worth.

And here are the final storyboards! I tried to give as much direction as I possibly could and I also explained what each scene represented and what is supposed to occur at that given time. I am quite pleased with the outcome because even though there are a lot of boards, I think this just gives me more instructions/ideas to follow when it actually comes to animating as a lot of the time I tend to stray off from my original ideas, so having a set plan will be great for Hayley and I to work from.
