The last sound I did was extremely difficult and time consuming, especially to animate after experimentation. I can't really describe the sound, other than it sounds 'wirey' and very similar throughout, therefore I thought it would be a challenge, and I wasn't wrong.
I started of with fine liner, because doing thin lines seem to be the only thing I could see for me to animate for this audio. Since the sound is cyclical/rather the same, I thought I would draw around a CD and then do some fine lines. I think this would be particularly interesting to expand upon, as I could perhaps make it vibrate and blur to try and make it effective.
I had a go seeing what else I could experiment with via this technique and I came up with this. I do truly like this piece and perhaps if I made them spin at different times or in different direction then it would make a good visual for the clip.
I then felt like I could see what colour I could involve to try and make the sound more effective. I couldn't exactly do fine lines with acrylic paint like I could with a very fine pen, so I just did some splashes of paint and a small gradient to see if I could picture this colour with the sound, and I could.
I did some more colour palette experimenting on some brown paper since I the colour payoff was intensified. The colours that stood out to me here were the orange/peach and the greens. I think going off these I would either go for a bright pink or a peach... or both, for my final animation for this sound.
Then going off my initial response to the audio which was 'wirey', I decided to mix up my fine liner to thicker ones and other of different dimensions and try and draw some wires. It came out more 'ribbony' looking in the end, but I do really like it!
Then since the clip does sound a but fuzzy, I spontaneously drew the image on the left. I thought dots would be a good way to demonstrate fuzziness/noise and then once I had scanned it into my computer I altered it into a 3D version since the pervious experimental piece worked well that way and came up with the second image. Again I think I could develop it further, but at this moment I am not too sure how.
Then lastly I took a piece from one of my other sounds and thought since I hadn't used it to animate, then I could develop it further for this sound and see where it would take me. Since I hadn't used sound waves yet, I used them here and I do think I would like to use them in my final animation. I also like the static effect which would be good to embody the fuzziness of the sound itself.
I then tried to combine the colour experiments I did in the beginning with a 3D piece and ended up with this. I do love the colour of this so I think I will go on to use it, and it does look very abstract which is something I am not used to doing.
I then had a go at doing some more sound waves with a 'solar' colour palette. I LOVE this outcome, but I think it would be hard to recreate as an animation, but I really like the outcome of this.
Then lastly I did a piece that is very sharp, and looks never ending, which is exactly what this audio sounds like! I think it would be interesting to make it move either to the left or right and then add some vibrations to it, though I am not sure seen as how I have so much choice for this sound clip!
