Since I had to reinvent my ideas for the Discovery Channel Ident, I decided to redo my storyboard and animatic so that I could still have some guidelines with what I wanted to achieve.

It was much simpler to make this storyboard than my previous one, because I knew exactly what I wanted to do this time, instead of just envisioning something and hoping I could do it. This time I knew I would be able to achieve what I wanted because I had learnt the skills and techniques in the advanced After Effects session.
My new Discovery Channel Ident includes three settings, a beach, a safari and a desert. I plan to make each of these settings in Photoshop and have them all on separate layers so that I am able to move them individually in After Effects. There will be less than 10 layers for each setting, so I will make the three on three different compositions to minimise complexity and complications.
Then using the components I had made previously, for example the peacock made with several pieces, I will make more animals that will suit the settings and have them move slightly within it (2 and a half seconds for each setting, so not much movement can be made!).
My storyboard and animatic have no colour or texture to them yet because that is something I want to research through colour swatches and mood boards, however I am glad I have a general narrative structure which I can work from.
