After finally mastering how to get my peacock to shatter, I then hit a brick wall. Yes I was able to make it shatter, but then what? I wanted my shapes to form into each other, and after endless searching tutorials, I found none that would be effective for me. I was able to reverse the shatter so that it forms the peacock, but in my opinion, I was not happy with it at all. I didn't like the black background and other than the shattering there was nothing 'scenic' happening within the ident, that I felt would portray what the Discovery Channel embodies. My whole point of the ident was to make The Discovery Channel look exciting and appealing, and I felt like I was heading in the wrong direction.
So I then thought of something else. Instead of getting rid of hours of work because the peacock took a good few hours to put together, I thought I would still use them but go ahead and make something in After Effects. I really enjoyed the advanced session, so I thought I would do something similar to that, however have 3 different settings.
These three setting would be very different and drastic to each other, to reflect the diversity in the channel, but I wanted them to be colourful, since I feel that that is my type of aesthetic! My three settings I thought of were, a desert, a beach and a safari at night. Thus I went into brainstorming!
