Discovery Channel Research - Sponsored Idents

Typically, The Discovery Channel do not have many animated idents that expand on a 3D model of their logo, which is fine that is their consistent aesthetic. However I have noticed that they offer a lot of sponsored 'idents'. By sponsored, I mean that a company completely separate to The Discovery Channel advertise their product on their channel yet The Discovery Channel logo is still displayed, as the other company is just sponsoring them. Here are a few examples:

This one is very minimalistic and is a style that I really like! The colour scheme is black and white yet for certain objects and props, there are bright colours such as red and yellow, but nothing to complicated. The animation itself feels like an illusion, just because of the way it moves. It's as if the animator moved everything to the left and then back again, but it gives this visceral feeling of actually being on a ship, which works great! I would say it compliments the channel well and is a different depth to their original 3D idents.

This is another sponsored animation ident which I believe is a 3D digital animation. It has a very glossy feel to it, which increases its appeal however it has nothing to do with the Discovery Channel! I know that this is a sponsorship, however I would presume there would be some aspects of nature/science/wildlife in there, but there isn't. This only suggests to me that the channel are open to all sorts of animation, within reason. This company have provided at least 5 of this type of animation for the channel, so it isn't like it is a one off thing, it is consecutive! This has made the discovery channel a lot less intimidating for me!
