After making our box out of MDF wood, we decided to get started on our 3D mock up room, printing John Lewis items large scale from Jess' living room design. The wooden room was actually really large, at 60cm wide by 30cm high, so we had to print a couple of sheets for the wallpaper and the flooring to fill each side. Sarah then printed the images from the John Lewis website to scale, and the rest of us began to cut them out and stick then on cardboard. We then cut the cardboard out which made the paper more durable and easier to stand. This took quite a while to do, and it was mostly a case of trial and error. At one point we were going to give up, but we kept on going because we really wanted to make a physical mockup of one of the rooms!
The room started to come together nicely, and actually looked very realistic up close, allowing us to see our vision come to life. Though it was frightening to think that this is only a third of the size of one room, because the display is extremely large.

We then hired out a camera, lighting and tripod so that we could photograph our room professionally. We tried multiple angles, and also turned some of the furniture around so that the judges could see the back of the card, and our development. I love how this turned out, though I think it would have been slightly better if we involved more colour into the scene, but overall it will be great for our presentation, and gives a good idea for scaling! I wish we had the time and the money to do all 12 rooms and the whole doll house!
