Responsive: Secret7" Product Proposal

Secret 7"

The problems I am aiming to solve are...

1) Since songs can be complex and have different bridges and verses, there will be so much to choose from in each track. Therefore my first problem, will be trying to summarise a whole song into one illustration.

2) Trying to attract a new, modern audience will be my next problem. Some of these tracks are very old perhaps some that people have not heard of before, so I will have to try and figure out ways I can appeal to younger people (colour? busy design? simplistic design?).

3) The last problem that I will face will be not being able to use words. I instantly had several ideas and concepts that included typography, but the brief states that we are not allowed to use any.

To solve this I will ...

1) I will have to listen to the tracks over and over, perhaps even listen to their album also to see if there is a story within it or a particular message that needs to be sent.

2) I think to appeal this audience, I am going to have to take the old tracks and liven them up. I might keep my designs minimalistic, use a lot of negative space to captivate the generation that is into simplicity. Also colour will be vital for attracting a new audience.

3) To solve this problem, I am going to have to analyse the lyrics and then pick them apart, creating visual representations that are associated to each song. This way they can be just as powerful as words.

I will be aiming to communicate these moods/themes/tones of...

1) Embodiment of each artist. I want to have a piece of their personality in each other track covers.

2) The time/era. I think this might be a great challenge to take on!

3) And a representation of each song or the artist in some way.

To an audience of...

1) Those those who are interested in music of specific genres. Whether this be jazz, pop or electronic, my designs have to be engaging to those who listen to these particular compositions.

2) Also, new music lovers. I want to appeal to people who perhaps have not listened to these tracks before, captivate them and engage them through new visuals.

3) But then, also old music lovers. I want to keep fans engaged and respect their music tastes also.
